Tampa Bay Fishing Report (May 31 – June 7, 2026) | Snook, Redfish, Trout & Tarpon Bite Heating Up
Tampa Bay fishing stayed red hot this week as summer patterns continued to develop across the bay. Anglers experienced excellent action targeting snook, redfish, speckled trout, and tarpon throughout the Tampa Bay area with live and cut bait producing consistent results daily.
This week’s trips with Beyond Fishing Charters covered inshore flats, mangrove shorelines, bridges, and passes across Tampa Bay, with fish aggressively feeding on large schools of threadfin and greenbacks.
Tampa Bay Weather & Water Conditions
The first week of June brought classic Tampa Bay summer fishing conditions with hot temperatures, mostly sunny mornings, light winds, and scattered afternoon thunderstorms throughout the region. Water temperatures climbed into the mid-80s, helping push bait schools across the flats and into deeper channels around the bay.
Overall conditions remained excellent for inshore fishing, especially during early morning outgoing tides before afternoon storms developed.
Snook Fishing Report Tampa Bay
Snook fishing was outstanding throughout the week around mangrove shorelines, docks, residential canals, and tidal passes. Fish were aggressively feeding during moving water periods and reacting well to both live and cut bait presentations.
Live threadfin and greenbacks produced the most consistent bite, especially around structure with strong tidal movement.
Redfish Fishing Report Tampa Bay
Redfish schools stayed active on shallow grass flats and oyster bars during lower tide periods. Several quality slot redfish were caught while targeting bait pods along the edges of mangroves and potholes.
Cut greenbacks worked especially well when fish became pressured later in the day.
Speckled Trout Fishing Report Tampa Bay
Speckled trout fishing remained steady across Tampa Bay grass flats with strong early morning action. Trout were feeding heavily on bait schools, and anglers found success using live greenbacks and threadfins.
Several larger trout mixed in with healthy numbers of keeper-size fish throughout the week.
Tarpon Fishing Report Tampa Bay
Tarpon activity continued improving daily around Tampa Bay bridges, passes, and nearby beaches. Early mornings provided the best opportunities as rolling fish fed heavily on live threadfin.
As water temperatures continue warming, the Tampa Bay tarpon bite should only continue getting stronger throughout June.
